District Three ONA Legislation Committee in Action

The Legislation Committee of District Three, ONA has an ongoing positive relationship with our local legislators. The members of the committee believe that open communications with our lawmakers will assure that the interests of patients and professional registered nurses will be heard before and when laws are being considered.

Please watch the District Three, ONA Newsletters for timely legislative information shared by members of the Legislation Committee via the "Legislative Corner". This "Corner" features advice on many things from RNs getting politically active to understanding how laws are made. Do not miss the opportunity to stay attuned to what is happening in and around the professional nursing world.

Recently, District Three President Carol Smith and Executive Director Linda Warino, as ONA HPC Members, assisted ONA in distributing ONA PCE contributions to local legislators at the District Three, ONA Office and at the Hypertension Screening booth at the Canfield Fair. 

Legislators included in the pictures are Senator Joe Schiavoni and Lou Gentile and State Representatives John Boccieri, Michele Lepore Hagan, Tim Ginter and Michael O’Brien.
